Got Your Back Bags & Grant Recipient Update

One the recipients of a Illini Dads Association grant has been involved with the Got Your Back Bag initiative over the last year. The Got Your Back Bag initiative was conducted as part of a larger Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) effort, led annually by the Women’s Resources Center.

This year, SAAM was coordinated by the Women’s Resources Center in partnership with 100 Strong, Amnesty International, Asian American Cultural Center, Black Greek Council, Central Black Student Union, Counseling Center, Delta Phi Delta Dance Fraternity Inc, Department of Gender & Women’s Studies, Department of Theatre, Diverse Curlz, Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, Division of Public Safety, Eusa Sia, Ewezo, Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, Girl Up UIUC, Inner Voices Social Issues Theatre, Interfraternity Council, La Casa Cultural Latina, LGBT Resource Center, MAAT, McKinley Health Center, Minority Association of Future Attorneys, My Sister’s Keeper, Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Relations, Office of Access and Equity, Panhellenic Council, Reaching Across Classes, Salongo, Sexual Health Peers, Sigma Psi Zeta, Students Against Sexual Assault, United Greek Council, University Housing, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., and the Rape Awareness and Prevention (RAP) Committee. Community partners included Courage Connection, Rape Advocacy Counseling & Education Services (RACES), University YWCA, and the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center.

The Illini Dads Association is so proud of everything this grant recipients has achieved and we look forward to seeing how the Got Your Back Bag initiative helps others!
